About Us

Accepted hires only experienced writers, editors, and consultants. Simply having worked in admissions or gone to graduate school is not enough to qualify someone to join our firm. Every aspiring consultant must first meet our exacting professional writing standards – and only about 10% of the people who apply to work for us successfully pass this bar. After first meeting our stringent hiring standards, each new Accepted consultant must undergo a comprehensive training program and then complete a monthslong mentorship under the guidance of Managing Director Esmeralda Cardenal. This combination of prior experience, existing skill, and rigorous training ensures that your consultant will be exceptionally prepared to guide you skillfully through the entire admissions process.

At Accepted, you will be supported and guided by a single, dedicated consultant who is committed to helping you succeed. They will collaborate with you one-on-one to develop a winning strategy and craft your strongest application – serving as your primary coach, partner, editor, advisor, and sounding board. Working directly with an individual who knows you and your story well provides the consistency and trust necessary to produce an exceptional application.

Additionally, you will benefit from the know-how and insight of our entire consulting team. Via our peer review program, a second consultant will also review your drafts and provide complementary feedback and suggestions. This additional critique of your submissions – which is provided at no extra cost to you – ensures that we are delivering the highest-quality service and assisting you in producing your best possible application materials.

Your consultant will return every submitted draft within two business days, if not sooner. Weekend and evening appointments are available as needed to make the review process as convenient as possible. We ask only that you be courteous of our consultants’ time and avoid making last-minute evening and weekend requests.

Occasionally, potential clients ask us whether our services include writing their application materials for them, but this is not a practice we condone at Accepted. Our job as consultants is to guide you in creating an application strategy, selecting the optimal stories to share with the admissions committee, and refining your writing so that every element of the application you submit reflects your best self. In addition to being unethical, writing your materials for you would undermine the authenticity of your application and ultimately do you a disservice. After all, the admissions committee seeks to understand and evaluate you, not us.

While the vast majority of our clients gain admission to at least one, if not several, of their target programs, and we would love to guarantee that you’ll be accepted at your dream school, the admissions process is inherently subjective. Thanks to our extensive experience, however, we understand what the admissions committees seek, and we’re committed to helping you submit the strongest possible application that highlights your unique strengths and accomplishments.
