Sure we can.

In addition to our package program, we offer editing services. So for those of you who have already written your essays, are more confident of your writing abilities, or want to save some money, we provide an alternative to our package program.

The Typical Process

Step 1.

After you write your essays, we read them and critique them on a "macro" level. At this stage we look for overall readability and interest and ask the following questions: Are you presenting something unique about yourself or do you sound like everyone else? Are your papers well-organized and logical? Do they flow well? Do you have interesting leads? Do your conclusions tie everything together? Do the essays make sense?

We then discuss the essays with you and recommend ways to improve them. You revise the essays and send them back to us.

Step 2.

This time, although we check the "macro level," we focus on the micro,  the nitty-gritty details of writing: grammar, style, spelling, word usage, etc. After completing our changes, we send you back edited versions of your essays. If we have any questions, we contact you; if you have any questions, you contact us.

If the essays don't need revision, we go straight to Step 2, and you usually only incur the minimum, one hour charge.

Money Matters

We charge US$150 per hour for consulting and editing services. We have a one-hour minimum charge.

We begin work after receiving credit card information or a retainer, and we bill according to the amount of time we spend working on your essays or consulting with you. To provide credit card information, please call 310-815-9553 or fill out our registration form and your Accepted.com editor will contact you.

If you don't want to pay by credit card and want to pay by check, you can set up a retainer account with us.  If we spend more time than your retainer paid for, we bill you for the difference; if we don't use up your retainer, we refund the difference. The size of the retainer varies depending on how many essays you want us to review, so please e-mail or call 310-815-9553 to determine the size of your retainer.

One of the more obvious and common questions students ask: "How long will you take to edit my essays?" Answer: "It depends on how well you write." We don't mean to be evasive. It is just very difficult to answer that question accurately and reliably without having seen your writing or knowing where you are applying. Very roughly and only if you push us hard for an estimate, we would say one-to-two hours for a typical 500-800 word essay. It could be less, especially if we have worked on more than one of your essays. It could be more if your writing skills are weak or if English is not your native language.

We will provide you with feedback on your essays within two business days of receiving them, provided we have also received payment or credit card information.
