I joined Accepted.com in 1997 when it was still a pioneering dot.com. Since then, I’m delighted to have helped hundreds of clients earn admission to the world’s top business, law, medical, and graduate schools, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, Columbia, Chicago, and Kellogg. I’m the author of Great Application Essays for Business School , Great Personal Statements for Law School, Perfect Phrases for Business School Acceptance, Perfect Phrases for Law School Acceptance , and Perfect Phrases for Medical School Acceptance (McGraw-Hill). I have been interviewed by Business Week Online and MBAPodcaster and am the featured host of GMAT Club’s “Ask Accepted.com” online forum.
Helping talented, accomplished people articulate their visions and uniqueness in a compelling, personal way has since become a passion for me, and I have yet to meet a client who didn’t have a story to tell. Uncovering and polishing each client’s special blend of skills, experiences, and values has taught me an extraordinary amount, and I’m pleased that so many of my clients have gained admission to the schools of their dreams.
When not helping applicants get accepted to their dream schools, I am a seasoned business editor and writer with years of experience in business, technical, scholarly, and educational editing and writing. I earned my bachelor’s (honors) and master’s degrees in English from the University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University, respectively. In 1993 I founded the Operative Word, a publishing services firm whose clients have included such major publishers as McGraw-Hill, Wiley, and Houghton Mifflin. My essays have appeared in the Gale Encyclopedia of U.S. Economic History, the International Directory of Company Histories, the Encyclopedia of American Industry, the Encyclopedia of Global Industry, and U.S. Industry Profiles: The Leading 100. My features and reviews have been published in the Orange County Register, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Baltimore Sun. I look forward to working with you!
